Douglas Converse was born and raised in Seattle. He grew up in a religious household and even attended a Catholic school. Gradually, Douglas lost faith in religion when his Track Coach sexually abused him and the school did nothing about it. After high school, Douglas drifted away from religion and started to explore different paths. Today, Douglas helps his community find the healing that he found for himself.

What helped Douglas find healing? How did he transform from a lost young man to a positive man? What did he learn about God’s generosity and love? How was he able to achieve the impossible? And what can we learn from his story about trusting in God and serving others? Tune in as Dr. Fred and Douglas answer these questions and more!

Not too many real estate professionals can say they double as magicians, but performing magic is Douglas Converse’s other great passion in life. His fusion of card handling, mentalist, magic, and para magic techniques has astounded audiences for 25 years, as he has taken the stage for more than 4,000 magic shows in charity events, theme parks, private parties, and comedy clubs. One spectator praised Mr. Converse’s fluid motions, noting that the cards seemed to melt from his fingertips.

Douglas Converse is also devoted to his community, putting his craft to good use with twice-yearly performances at the Seattle Ronald McDonald House, entertaining critically ill children. One of Mr. Converse’s prouder moments was when he was able to grant a young boy’s final wish by taking him in as a magician’s assistant through the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America.

In 2007, Douglas Converse lost one of his closest friends, Dr. Richard Tucker, to a drunk driver. Dr. Tucker was engaged with a hospital for AIDS patients in Haiti, and now, through The Crudem Foundation, Inc., Douglas Converse carries on his friend’s mission by continuing to raise money for the hospital.
